DIY Candle :
Materials :
- Crayons or Beeswax - A Mircowave - An old Candle Wick or String/Yarn - A Container or Small bowl ( microwave safe ) - A Candle holder - A Spoon - Some type of scent, ( you can use perfume or extract ) - Super glue |
Optional/Depending :
- Aluminum Foil - Food Coloring |
If you are using String look here :Step 1 : You need to take the beeswax or crayon and coat the string/yarn until all of it is covered with the wax. Make sure to do this step CAREFULLY and THOROUGHLY, if you don't, your candle won't work .
Step 2 : Take the string/yarn and a bit of superglue and attach both the string and a small piece of aluminium foil together. Now attach the wick to your candle holder, with the super glue. If you are using Crayons look here :Step 2/3 : Pick 5 crayons, that are around the same color and take off the wrapper to each of them. After, break each crayon into 3 pieces.
Step 3/4 : Put the crayon pieces in the microwave for 20 secs. Make sure they don't burn !!! After the 20 secs, mix the crayons and if they aren't fully melted, melt them for another 15 secs and keep doing that until they are fully melted. Step 4/5 : Slowly mix your scent into the wax while it's still a liquid. You need to add about 7 tablespoons into the wax, depending on how strong your scent is. Step 5/6 : Step 5/6: Now slowly pour your wax into your candle holder, and wait for it to cool completely. |
If you are using a Wick look here :Step 1 : If you are using a wick you need to squeeze a tiny amount of superglue to the bottom of the wax plate with your wick on top and stick that on to your candle holder.
If you are using Beeswax look here :Step 2/3 : Take around a cup of beeswax and melt it in the microwave for around 20 secs. Then mix it and melt it for 15 secs at a time until all of the beeswax is melted.
Step 3/4 : Slowly mix your scent into the wax while it's still a liquid. You need to add about 7 tablespoons into the wax, depending on how strong your scent is. Step 4/5 ( Optional ) : Add a few drops of food-coloring and mix it into the liquid wax, to make your candle a bit more personalized. Step 5/6: Now slowly pour your wax into your candle holder, and wait for it to cool completely. |
